It was so sad to hear that a past teacher , coach , friend and mentor passed away. Steve Mabry you will be missed. The people you touched in so many different ways will be remembered. May the good Lord bless your family during this time. RIP my dear friend.

Mr. Mabry was a young man when I attended CGJH in the 70’s. I think he had just started his teaching/ coaching career. I’m sorry to hear that he has left us. He was and is a well respected man.

I watched Coach Mabry calm down an irate basketball player on an away game coming home. He saved many of us a lot of pain. I was the third string quarterback behind Kenneth and Ronnie in the seventh grade. I never thought I would get to play so I was watching the cheerleaders. One game against Landis, Ronnie came off the field hurt holding his left arm. Coach goes Shane Shane! It was Shane! Get back here Shane! Not Come Back Shane! I was so excited to play that I ran out on the field without my damn helmet! I was Mr Hollywood for awhile. He was the first to vote that I do a Frisbee show after I became almost famous as a Pro Frisbee Player!
