“Harriet Hillard Pinkston

SPENCER – Mrs. Harriet Hillard Pinkston, 55, of Spencer, passed away April 3, 2012, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born March 11, 1957, in Rowan County, Mrs. Pinkston was the daughter of the late Rev. Benny Ray and Margaret Morris Hillard. She was a 1975 graduate of South Rowan High School and attended John Tyler College, Chesterfield, Va. She was secretary at Landmark Church.

Harriet was a loving wife, mother, sister and daughter. She enjoyed walking on the beach, playing the piano, gardening and entertaining. She possessed a creative talent for interior and holiday decorating, which she shared with many through her church work, especially at Christmas time.

Survivors include her husband, Steve Pinkston, who she married Sept. 27, 1975; son Jesse Pinkston of the home; brother Benny Lynn Hillard (Pat); sisters Cathy Faucette (Mike), Lisa Houston, Robin Robinson (Mike) and Angela Smith, all of Salisbury; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation and Service: The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, (April 5) at Summersett Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday (April 6) at Landmark Church, conducted by Pastor Mike Robinson. Burial will follow in Rowan Memorial Park.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Landmark Church, 1910 Mooresville Road, Salisbury, NC 28147.
