I’m trying to get several videos in one place for my Facebook group.
I don’t know who the photographers or videographers are.
I shot this article below of Bryson City one trip.

20241002. I’m posting this out of thread. Really read the entire article. On the same line of thought I met a fireman from Midway NC today that is rotating crews to the mountains. The firefighter I met has a Dad that is running an excavator and has one dump truck after the other following him. He told me that they were able to carry 200 gallons of Diesel. But that doesn’t last long. So in the mix is a Lake Lure official that has had a long week and is making bad decisions. My new friend today told me his Dad and crew are finding families that have been on the roof since day one.
Read the entire article. A local Fire Authority threatened to have a helicopter Pilot arrested for rescuing people and tried to deny him a fligh back to go save his own son.

“Footage of crews working to restore potable water at North Fork reservoir this week.
Turbidity curtains have been installed at North Fork reservoir, and in-reservoir treatment continues to take place through the end of the day today (Oct. 31). Though the overall turbidity of the reservoir remains high, levels continue to drop. As of Wednesday, the turbidity level at North Fork was 21.2 NTU. In order to be safe for the normal treatment process, turbidity needs to fall somewhere 1.5-2 NTU. The turbidity curtain and treatment operation is intended to speed up the drop in turbidity. Water Resources will work over the weekend to measure the effectiveness of the turbidity curtain operation and will update the public on Monday, November 3.

• 55 households have been placed in travel trailers or manufactured housing units provided by FEMA Direct Temporary Housing Assistance.
North Carolina Disaster Recovery Centers
• A Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) is a one-stop shop where you can meet with FEMA representatives, apply for FEMA assistance, receive referrals to local assistance, apply with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for low-interest disaster loans, and more. No appointment is needed.
• DRCs are open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Find one near you at: FEMA.gov/drc or text “DRC” and a ZIP code to 43362. You can visit any open center, including locations in other states.
Direct Temporary Housing Assistance
• FEMA offers several types of housing assistance and temporary shelter solutions for eligible households. Direct Temporary Housing Assistance is approved for 25 counties as an interim solution to permanent housing needs. These temporary housing solutions include travel trailers or manufactured home units, and more will be available soon.
• These options take time, and individuals will be contacted by FEMA if they are eligible. FEMA now has dozens of homes set up near Old Fort NC to give families impacted by Helene a place to live. Those families told us today they can stay in the homes for 18 months rent-free.
