I can’t begin to tell you how nice it is to pull into a large park and have a few feet between neighbors. Almost every spot in campgrounds in Myrtle Beach or Surfside are so close you can hand your neighbor a drink from each other’s door step. You might look at this stormy feature photo and think those campers are close. That is until you get a few years in and out of parks. Sandburs or Foot Fuckers come with most every camp in Myrtle. But this is a nice clean camp. Motorcycles have to live at the front of the camp. The GPS took me straight into the camp with no in town distractions. I didn’t even know it was bike week. I only had five nights. I was close to a Walmart and a couple of strip malls with gas close by. This trip I didn’t pick up my cameras but for the storm that welcomed me the first night. Timing was perfect for the storm as it formed after I set up. Storms blow out a beach town and clean the air. My biggest goal was to take my Schnauzer on walks and get my feet in the water!
I want to go back . Next time I’m shaving my Schnauzer bald so the sandburs aren’t so much work to take out of her fur. Current to date 20230131 in 449 we have only had two sand burrs. Could be the season, I am not in any grass down here.

Our new Mi-Fi Hot Spot Speed at Camp isn’t like the 5g we’ve been dreaming about. Despite what T-mobile says this is what I get. I’ve been able to post small batches of photos and watch our TVs.
Sometimes I get faster speeds with the Mi-Fi.
The Travel Park is installing some new wire but for us this is what our Park speed is. I’ll be doing an iphone hot spot test soon.

Getting ready for this trip we wrenched on everything! Raven The Raptor, Pengwon the Kia, Layla the Ram and Sade the Bike. The Kia still has shop time waiting on her! I expected this GoPro test would be really shaky, because the camera was shaking where I had it mounted. However the stabilizer in the camera took care of it. But I doubt I will mount it in front again.
Uploading video to two or three different places is painfully slow!
I’m surprised with the output of my Facebook glasses and my iphone. Here are a few samples.

I did a quick tour through North Myrtle Beach. It is beginning to look a lot like West Palm Beach. The canals reminded me of living in Venice Beach California. I need to get back and take my time. I’ll be uploading a drive by GoPro segment before long.
I happen to like the fish eye distortion. I’ll go back and use a normal lens soon. This is in direct conflict with a pro I admire, however I bought a 16mm fish eye lens for the fish eye look!
Within Ten miles each way I go from this Travel Park is nothing but fun! Most of this fun costs a ton of money. However, I learned how to have more fun with less money than anyone I know. I plan my moves carefully and use years of experience traveling the country to find the fun stuff and the good people.
I found where the Cops hang out. They hang out just where I like to. They find secluded places in large malls where nobody would dare go but me and the Cops.

About 30 minutes later a big Rig pulled in and cut the view about %75. That is to be expected.
WOW! WOW! WOW! This is the first time in my life I’ve been able to really see Myrtle and N Myrtle. It is easy to see why some of us have chosen to live there or make it their destination of destinations! When I said that the canals remind me of Venice Beach, California I left out that they are much nicer. The camp has jacked up it’s internet. enough tonight so I can get some work out! They are working on all improving and will be streaming everything by June and cutting the cable! Then I tried the camp wi-Fi. I was surprised. WOW! WOW! WOW! This is the first time in my life I’ve been able to really see Myrtle and N Myrtle. It is easy to see why some of us have chosen to live there or make it their destination of destinations! When I said that the canals remind me of Venice Beach, California. I left out that they are much nicer. Venice Beach Canal houses went into the multi-million dollar price range. Venice Beach offers more distractions than Myrtle. I always feel I am only here for a couple of days or a week at the most with 15 years between visits. But this is nice! I’m still trying to do it all in one day but I’ve always been that way, like I’m going to miss something! I have the ability to freeze up any computer. I already used up my allotment on my Mi-Fi. My Iphone’s Hot Spot is a disappointment here. I can’t figure out if a spy has a blocker running or it is just that so many people are congested in a small area, If you consider 1200 acres small. That means communication is hit and miss. So hang in there with me! I have noticed an interesting side affect (effect). The camp has jacked up it’s internet. enough tonight so I can get some work out! They are working on all improving and will be streaming everything by June and cutting the cable! Spot I am disappointed. I just don’t think I can afford the limits on the Mi-Fi. But this camp speed is a great surprise. If it stays consistent By June there will be no cable, just Fiber Optics wi-fi streaming! It’s a brave new world!

North Myrtle Beach,NC off Cherry Grove 20221217
On my way back to camp I noticed a sloshy creek across from a Giant Candy Store. The sun was just right. The swampish creek is probably a drain off for something. I noticed a mansion in the back corner that looked abandoned. I believe a man is living in the swamp. As I was shooting a lone man appeared out of nowhere walking ahead of me. My wife saw him but we don’t know if he came from the swamp or walked behind me while I was shooting. I didn’t see or hear him until I looked up from the view finder.
The wi-fi makes it for me at the Travel Park. I hope it keeps this speed up! The front and security people are good. The maintenance crew has done an awesome job cleaning up from Hurricane Ian. You would never know anything happened. The store has the essentials for what you might need. It is like a small city complete with a post office. The dryers don’t dry blankets well. So I hang them over my floor heaters and have an air mover blowing them dry (I hope)! That is not a game changer, However it would be nice not to leave camp to do laundry! It would be easy to live here without going outside of a couple square miles. There are grocery stores and night clubs. I do like having a residence to escape back to for hurricanes.

I was able to upload a dozen large photo files to three different sites. However. I am spoiled with High speed at least 40 times this fast. So I am hurting.

At 11:25 pm I get this.
The freeze is coming. Temps will drop 30 degrees within hours. 22 degrees is cold anywhere. The clouds look spooky. It was so dark I couldn’t see the crane or the person and their dog watching the waves.
These were reduced in size for the web even though I hate to do that. They were 50 to 70 mb reduced to 1 or 2mb.
I almost had a burst of speed for an hour.

A room with a view, once the big coach moves! Honestly I believe some thought went into giving the camp sites a slight slant so most everyone can see a piece of the beach!
The above is in Calabash where a Seafood platter broiled or fried is almost forty bucks a plate. Our Aroo stole the fried flounder. We like Drunken Jacks about an Hour South in Murrell’s Inlet better.

Daddy’s Not Dead! Daddy is Just Stupid!
This is the second dumbest accident I have ever heard of on the beach. I was a pool lifeguard helping out a “real lifeguard” that had a beach job and was working toward an EMT degree to work for county rescue in St John’s County. Florida. His name was Joey. I forgot his last name. He needed my help one day during a huge thunderstorm clearing the beach. The lightening was so bad that combined with the salt air the strikes close by were literally standing the hairs up on our arms. We looked a lot like Bello Nock. But for this one idiot that refused to leave. He was sitting in an aluminum chair with his legs in the salt water nursing a case of beer out of a cooler. His two kids and wife were also yelling at him to please leave. After about the thirtieth try….KABOOM! We were all lucky we weren’t fried. But the bolt traveled to the guy via his feet in the salt water and aluminum chair. It cleaned his clock and he was limp except for his head which was sort of dangling around. His wife and kids were screaming Daddy’s dead Daddy’s dead. Joey and I were poking each other going Daddy’s not dead, Daddy is just stupid! The man lived to drink another case!
This is from inside my door way of my Travel Trailer. I was only a stop or two off center (f-stop). I caught the orangeish color I like so much. My sensor spots are telling on me but I’m shooting anyway. I stayed up all night to get this shot and this trip I am not rushed. However, I have been here a month already and this is the closest to sunrise as I have gotten. I’ve been all the way around the clock so I know I can be a morning person if I have to. Or I can be a third shift person pulling a double.

I saw a cute Fox this morning. I bet it was the same Fox I saw skirt down the beach weaving through people a week ago. Word is there is also a Coyote and an alligator or two that visit. It was just before sunrise when I saw the fox so I was shooting in the dark. 20230116. Oh yes, I saw a couple of two legged Foxes that were kind enough to say hello. One kind lady mentioned we are the lucky ones! It doesn’t matter what side of the clock you are on. If you are a night person try to stick it out until the sun comes up. A lot of us make a large effort to see the Sunrise!

We were sound asleep at 3pm because we are night people. I heard a violent shake of the trailer like someone ran into it or a slide out fell off. I ran outside with bed head and a camera and caught the aftermath!

It is a Thursday night in MYRTLE BEACH, SC. The NAVY is in town, the FBI is in town, all major news media is here and I am here! I can’t believe they shut the Sky Wheel down at 8pm! I was just getting an insight to it!
Holden Beach Campground at the Pier might be a destination someday.
Coming over the bridge into Holden Beach is a lot like flying.

These shells came from Myrtle Beach except for one from St. Augustine, Florida. You can see the difference in the color of the sand. Plus I found the shells as is in the St Augustine shot.
I left the park crying like a baby. I made the four hour 30 minute ride with barely enough fumes left to make the gas station. I was sucking air. I have learned to love wherever we are. Home sweet home to me is fast internet. I hope the new system is up and running in Myrtle next time we go!
My wi-fi 5g was 84mbps faster than the ethernet connection. I have curvy roads to ride my Motorcycle on and I don’t have to walk a mile to get to it. But I am going to make a return appearance.
