I owe many of you a video. Here is the straight up scoop! I paid over 200 bucks a year to put some videos on Vimeo. For the longest time I was getting away with all kinds of rips. However a year or so ago they locked up with Facebook. Their policies got enforced. I had over 450 videos on Vimeo. I messed up by posting news rips. They busted me but sent me my 200 bucks back! I wrote the lawyer a letter and he politiely told me no. So I am rebuilding all of your videos. They may show up on Youtube or another site I need to look at. I am going to leave the titles of the videos I need to replace up here for awhile to help me put them back in some form or the other!
You will notice that within this web page I have doubled up on Ricky K. Smith and Randy L. Smith’s posts. They belong to an alumni group I created for the years 1973 to 1977. Because they are among the most talented of our classmates it is very important that I show their work in the alumni group. I am hoping to compile an on going series of photo and video visits to their studio and I can get their students to their menu much faster if they also have their own thread! I have done the same for Bill Scott.
Broke Ass Garage
This is a re-make of The Lexington Hot Rod Classic from 20180508 featuring Mike Yost, The Flowers and The Burrs with Broke Ass Garage! Mike Yost recognized me from a crowd of several thousand and I even had a helmet on!
I completely re-edited this video for our blog. I will post this video in my Ride On series also! Mike Yost made my day when he recognized me. My Bike had stalled out and I was about to have a bad day. Then I heard a familiar voice from the past out of a crowd of over twenty thousand. Mike saw me from across the street! His good vibes made the bike crank, I am certain of it!

As I am re-building my website I am often amazed about how talented our friends are. Usually those that have talent are also multi-talented. Imagine making a living as a professional bell ringer! Carol Feather Martin also makes awesome copper jewlery!
Judy Castor Deal and William Deal’s Trains
Imagine opening your home to all your friends! The task is overwhelming. However, Judy and William make it seem so natural. This couple is extraordinarily multi-talented. William is a photographer and is a retired Fireman. Judy is a crafts person. She makes flower displays and gives them to her neighbors. She is an animal advocate. She is a seamstress. She also took a collection of Christmas ornaments that rival the Biltmore Castle with over a dozen fully decorated trees.
The Deals are train enthusiasts. William and Judy built a miniature train track around their yard and re-built an entire train. They offer their friends rides every year. Their basement is a train hobbyists’ dream. They have a viewing area for a hobby track that is second to none! This video is a short version of hours of video recorded over two years of visits.

I had the great honor of photographing some of our country’s best martial artists judging aspiring young black belts. Sidekick Dojo sponsored many judges including Jerry Piddington. The entire team had been working since early morning. I arrived at 5pm and shot until 7pm. My main focus was to photograph Ricky K Smith, Randy L Smith and Jerry Piddington. There were many other world Class martial artists in attendance. Randy must have traveled all the way from Myrtle Beach which is five hours away.
The respect from students to teachers was nothing short of incredible. The concentration from the audience members and parents of the students, let’s just say the guardians in attendance were beaming with pride.
The students and teachers have spent thousands of hours getting in the physical shape it takes to be a martial artist in any form. Then the students exhibited dozens of different katas and forms that seemed impossible to remember. The judges were not easy and these guys don’t just get booted up in rank. They earn their belts. What is amazing is that the masters, Ricky, Randy, Jerry and the rest could spot a movement down to the foot placement or hand placement of the different styles. Mr Piddington had us all close our eyes and the class had to tell which forms or katas the students were performing.
I would like you to feel free to download these items. You can download the full resolution photos on FlickR.com. You have to create an account. Some of you are under 18 and often Flickr sneaks in something not suited for kids. So let your parents help you with the search. They need to sign up. They get a photo account. Don’t get prints done with less than the full resolution. That means if someone has re-shared my photo on facebook, facebook has stepped on the photo from 25mb to about 80kb! You can download the video. If you use the photo in a magazine or other venue drop Sidekick Dojo some thanks and give me a credit. If you make money on the photo let’s split the profit! My .nef files are almost 50mb so you should be able to make a large poster.
The Video looks good. I’ll be uploading to Vimeo as soon as my weekly limit kicks back in. The Vimeo Video looks better than the youtube and is easier to download. I say, download while you can as I continually get violated for playing music in the background. Sooner than later I’ll get booted. And I just got booted and am rebuilding.

Just a week or two out of the hospital recovering from a Widow Maker heart attack, Trina Freeze Webster treated me to a game of pool! I am currently trying different video players to embed in Worpress. Until I load Trina’s video to another site you may have to click on view full screen to see anything but the wall. The feeling is amazing at Re-Unions. You look at someone. You even are reading their name tag. Although you see the tag and you are looking at them your mind is stuck thinking who are you! Then they speak, you ask their name, then BOOM it’s like you see them again and your memory is instant. You can see them perfectly. There was a lot of heart breaking going on tonight. Darlene Strickland Harris drove all the way from Florida. Scott Trail drove from Atlanta then turned around and drove all the way home. What incredible energy! Tammy Cook and Cathy Wirtz worked hard to make things happen. Running ANY event is never easy and tends to be the most taken for granted job. They made this fun. Rick Houston’s golf club is first class. He says he and two others own it, but I call it his! His pro shop is second to none. The club house has about 10 wide screen TVs running sporting events. You pass a large neighborhood full of expensive houses into this amazing club complete with lake. If you don’t golf, I would suggest going there just to walk around the lake! You will never know just how much we appreciate all your time and great effort you put into keeping us all informed of what is going on in the lives of South Rowan classmates.
